Privacy Policy

Koshi is built for children, and we designed it to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. Short version: no ads, no tracking, no analytics, and no personal information is required to use Koshi.

1. No accounts, no sign-up

Koshi does not ask for a name, email address, phone number, or any other personal details. The app signs in anonymously using Firebase Authentication, which assigns a random identifier to the device. This identifier contains no personal information and is used only so the app can talk to our servers.

2. Kid profiles

Profiles created in the app (a nickname and a chosen character) are linked to the anonymous device identifier and stored on our servers (Google Cloud, Firebase) so they can be restored in the app. Please use a first name or nickname only. Profiles are never shown to other users and are not linked to any real-world identity.

3. No ads, no tracking, no analytics

Koshi contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking SDKs. We do not build profiles of children, and we do not sell or share any data with third parties for marketing.

4. Settings stay on the device

Parental settings such as screen-time limits and wind-down, plus preferences like dark mode and downloads, are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us.

5. Subscriptions

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment details. The app keeps a simple on-device flag noting whether a subscription is active.

6. Content delivery

When the app loads stories, sounds, or animations, our servers receive standard technical information needed to deliver the content (such as the request itself and the anonymous identifier). We do not use this to track or profile users.

7. Data retention and deletion

Deleting a kid profile in the app removes it. Deleting the app removes the anonymous identifier from your device; data linked to it on our servers becomes orphaned and is periodically cleaned up. To request deletion of any server-side data, contact us at the address below.

8. Children’s privacy

Koshi is directed at children and is designed to comply with children’s privacy laws, including COPPA and the GDPR provisions on children’s data, by not collecting personal information in the first place. Actions that concern grown-ups (settings, purchases, external links) sit behind a parental gate.

9. This website

koshi.ai uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or tracking scripts, and it has no forms. Like any website, our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) processes standard technical information such as IP addresses in server logs in order to deliver the pages securely.
